Proteomics and Metabolomics

Research in our state-of-the art laboratory focuses on applications of proteomics and metabolomics to clinical and basic science research problems. In addition to performing method development experiments in the areas of small molecule profiling, quantitative proteomics, and post-translational modification analysis, we collaborate with a number of investigators at National Jewish Health, the University of Colorado Denver and in the region. We offer a wide variety of mass spectrometry-based services and are happy to consult with you regarding your individual research questions.

Omics Training

In recent years, mass spectrometry has emerged as the premier method of analyzing and identifying proteins and metabolites in cell systems and in biofluids such as urine and plasma. These types of analyses are now critical to performing effective biomedical research aimed at developing a better understanding of disease pathology, as well as designing new approaches for clinical treatment. Mass spectrometry has proven so successful in this regard that demand has far exceeded the supply of trained personnel equipped to exploit the available technologies. Owing to the complexity of the technology and the rate at which the field is expanding, a comprehensive, hands-on approach to mass spectrometry-based proteomics is required. Unfortunately, only limited opportunities for individuals to receive hands-on training are currently available.

We offer application-based, hands-on workshops in a variety of Omics workflows, including proteomics, metabolomics, informatics, and clinical proteomics. We also offer web-based training.
