Dietary Supplements

Dietary supplements are typically in pill, capsule, tablet, or liquid form and contain one or more dietary ingredients (including vitamins, minerals, herbs or other botanicals, amino acids, and other substances) or their constituents. People commonly take them for health-related reasons. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not regulate dietary supplements in the same way that it regulates medicine. Makers of supplements cannot legally say that they can diagnose, cure, treat or prevent disease. Consult your healthcare provider before taking supplements.
