National Jewish Health® provides services to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, State Tobacco Education and Prevention Program (STEPP) for the Colorado QuitLine. Operations commenced in December 2002.
National Jewish Health has responsibility for all activities associated with the call center, including receiving and processing all intake calls; performing a series of up to five cessation coaching sessions; provision of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) medications; developing customized educational material in support of the needs for Colorado residents seeking to quit tobacco use, including pregnant callers, teens, chew/spit tobacco users and Native Americans; program evaluation and outcomes reporting; and participation in marketing planning, media placement and related activities to promote the program.
As of 2007, the Colorado QuitLine includes COQuitLine.org, a Web-based component for all participants.
